Privacy Policy
Effective date: 7 October 2026
This policy explains how UML Studio (the "UMLEditor" web app, "the app") handles your information. The app is developed and published by Yavuz Yunusoğlu ("we", "us").
Summary
- The app is a set of static files that runs entirely in your browser. We have no server and no database, and we cannot see your diagrams.
- The app has no analytics, no advertising, no cookies and no tracking.
- If you choose to connect Google Drive, the app talks directly from your browser to Google. It can only access files that it created itself.
Information stored on your device
The app saves the following in your browser's local storage, on your device only:
- your diagrams and the document you are working on (autosave);
- your preferences, such as theme, language, palette and editor settings;
- if you use Google Drive: a temporary access token (valid for about one hour; if you turn off "Remember me", it is kept in session storage and cleared when the browser closes), the name, email address and profile picture link of the connected Google account, and the IDs of the Drive folder and files the app uses.
This data never leaves your device unless you save a diagram to Google Drive or export it yourself. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this website. Signing out of Google Drive in the app removes the token and account details and revokes the app's access.
Google user data
Google Drive sync is optional. If you connect your Google account, the app requests only these permissions:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file: to create, open, update and delete diagram files that the app itself created in your Google Drive (in a folder named "UML Studio"). With this permission the app cannot see or read any other file in your Drive.- Your basic account information (name, email address and profile picture), read from the Google Drive API. It is shown in the app so you can see which account is connected.
How we use it: Google user data is used only to save and load your diagrams and to show which account is connected. All requests go directly from your browser to Google's servers.
Sharing: We do not receive, store, share, sell or transfer Google user data. It is not sent to us or to any third party. It is not used for advertising, it is not used to train AI or machine learning models, and no human reads it.
Storage and deletion: Your diagram files stay in your own Google Drive, and you can delete them there at any time. The access token and account details are kept only in your browser's local storage, as described above. You can remove the app's access at any time by signing out in the app or at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
UML Studio's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Third-party services
The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub may process technical data such as your IP address when your browser downloads the app's files. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
If you use Google Drive sync, the app loads Google Identity Services from accounts.google.com, and your use of Google is also governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
No other third-party services are used.
Children
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because we have no server, we do not receive any personal information from users.
Security
All connections to GitHub Pages and Google use HTTPS. Because your data is stored in your browser and in your own Google Drive, please keep your device and your Google account secure.
Your rights
We do not hold any of your personal data, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You control everything stored by the app: you can clear it from your browser and delete files from your Google Drive. If you have questions, contact us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
